What is a Franchise?.
A popular method of starting up in business is to buy a franchise. This is a way of acquiring an 'out of the box' business, where the early groundwork and client base has been set up already. It is also a good way to start a business in a field that is completely new to someone, and means that they don't have to think of the idea themselves as this has already been done. Good franchises will also provide a level of training and support for the franchisee. At its best, buying a franchise can offer a relatively risk-free way of starting out in business, though potential franchisees should never forget that their ultimate success or failure will be due largely to their own efforts.
